Job Description

As Tanzania continues to invest in infrastructure and technology, digital solutions are becoming increasingly important to expand equitable learning opportunities for children and adolescents.

The Digital Learning Specialist provides time-bound technical, operational, and administrative support to UNICEF Tanzania’s Education Programme in Dodoma. The role supports digital learning integration across programme design, implementation, monitoring, and knowledge management, aligned with national education priorities and UNICEF’s Country Programme.

Key Responsibilities

1. Programme Development & Planning (Digital Learning Focus)

  • Contribute to situation analyses and research to inform digital learning and education programming.
  • Support the development of sectoral goals, strategies, and results-based plans.
  • Provide technical and administrative support throughout programme planning cycles.

2. Programme Management, Monitoring & Reporting

  • Collaborate with colleagues and partners to track implementation progress and address bottlenecks.
  • Participate in monitoring exercises, programme reviews, and annual sector reviews.
  • Monitor utilization of programme resources, ensuring compliance with organizational rules and donor commitments.
  • Prepare draft inputs for programme and donor reporting.

3. Technical & Operational Support

  • Conduct field visits and surveys to assess progress and identify implementation challenges.
  • Provide technical guidance to government counterparts, NGOs, UN partners, and donors on digital education strategies and best practices.
  • Support application of UNICEF policies, strategies, and standards in digital learning initiatives.

4. Networking & Partnership Building

  • Build and sustain effective partnerships with government and national stakeholders.
  • Contribute to advocacy and communication materials promoting digital education initiatives.
  • Support research and preparation of resource mobilization briefs and partnership materials.

5. Innovation, Knowledge Management & Capacity Building

  • Identify, document, and share lessons learned in digital learning programming.
  • Promote innovative and evidence-based approaches to digital education.
  • Support capacity-building initiatives to strengthen stakeholder competencies in digital learning.

Profile Required

Experience

Minimum 3 years of relevant experience, including:

  • Digital education programme planning, implementation, monitoring, or research
  • Experience working on e-learning or digital learning initiatives (asset)
  • Experience in documentation, reporting, and project record-keeping (asset)
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Economics and Agribusiness, Fisheries and Resource Management, Environmental Science and Natural Resources Economics, Community Development, Business Administration, Social Sciences, or related fields.

Languages
