A safe, reliable, and efficiently maintained facility where all critical building systems operate with minimal downtime, preventive maintenance activities are completed on schedule, repairs are addressed promptly, and construction or maintenance projects are delivered to the required standards.

Reporting Line
Under the direct supervision of the Supervisor of the Facilities Management Unit, the individual contractor will perform the following duties.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain distributed building equipment and systems.
- Perform daily inspections of major building equipment and regularly survey and inspect all workspaces, including:
- Electrical power distribution system.
- Centralized and split HVAC systems.
- Water and fire pumps and control systems.
- Generators and ATS backup system.
- UPS system.
- Firefighting equipment and systems.
- Plumbing system.
- Elevators.
- Solar power system.
- Prepare and complete preventive maintenance schedules and reports.
- Prepare requisitions for maintenance supplies.
- Assist in identifying potential vendors.
- Perform regular repair, reconditioning, and preventive maintenance work.
- Perform regular plumbing and electrical repairs and basic office equipment repairs, including shredders and similar equipment.
- Perform welding, forming, and fabrication of metals.
- Undertake minor construction and repair works.
- Install partitions, change locks, and replace glass.
- Evaluate the extent of repairs required and assist in the preparation of plans and specifications for work requirements.
- Provide direction to outside contractors and ensure that construction and repair projects are completed in accordance with requirements.
- Prepare reports on the status of completed work.
- Perform any other ad hoc duties assigned.
Qualifications and Special Skills
- Successful completion of a high school diploma in a technical field is required.
- Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in the field of facilities management.
- Demonstrated ability to use a computer.
Languages
- English and French are the working languages of the Mechanism.
- Fluency in spoken and written English is required.
- Working knowledge of Swahili (Kiswahili) is desirable.
Additional Information
- The appointment is limited to the International Residual Mechanism for Criminal Tribunals.
- Appointment of the successful candidate will be limited to the initial funding of the post.
- Extension of the appointment is subject to the extension of the mandate and/or the availability of funds.
