Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Chief Engineer at Zuri Zanzibar Resort, located in Kendwa. The Chief Engineer will oversee the maintenance and operation of all facilities and equipment. Day-to-day tasks include managing the engineering team, planning and executing preventive maintenance programs, and ensuring all health and safety standards are met. The role also involves collaborating with other departments to support the overall guest experience and to maintain the resort’s high standards of sustainability and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Strong technical skills in facility management and engineering systems
• Plan and oversee CAPEX investments, renovations, and new technical projects
• Experience in managing an engineering team and coordinating maintenance programs
• Knowledge of hotel technologies, maintenance systems (electrical, water, HVAC, etc.)
• Proficiency in health, safety, and environmental regulations
• Excellent problem-solving and organizational skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively with other departments
• Solid understanding of sustainable practices in facility management
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field
• Prior experience in the hospitality industry is a plus
