Job Description:

Coca-Cola Beverages Africa (CCBA) presents an exciting opportunity for a Plant Engineer - Mbeya to join the Manufacturing team at CCBA in Mbeya, Tanzania. The role will report to the Plant Production Lead.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

Asset Management Strategy

    • Provide technical leadership to implement asset management strategy and frameworks
    • Support execution of standard engineering practices at plant level
    • Ensure compliance with asset care philosophy and standards

    Asset Care

      • Develop and implement asset care plans for packaging plant
      • Ensure engineering competencies are developed within the team
      • Conduct audits and ensure compliance with asset care systems
      • Manage budget control for asset care activities
      • Review and evaluate maintenance requests and technical solutions
      • Develop maintenance budgets for the plant

      Plant Reliability

        • Ensure reliability and uptime of packaging plant
        • Lead engineering support for production teams
        • Drive performance improvement initiatives
        • Implement predictive maintenance systems
        • Validate quality of maintenance work and execution
        • Review maintenance scorecards and resolve abnormalities
        • Ensure maintenance systems and packages are updated

        Plant Optimization

          • Lead or support plant optimization trials and projects
          • Evaluate and approve plant modifications and changes
          • Analyze performance data and identify improvement opportunities
          • Investigate equipment failures and root causes
          • Drive continuous improvement initiatives within engineering

          Team Leadership

            • Lead and develop engineering team performance
            • Set and review team goals and KPIs
            • Conduct performance reviews and coaching sessions
            • Identify training needs and develop development plans
            • Ensure multi-skilling within engineering teams
            • Manage contracted maintenance services and vendor performance

            Safety & Housekeeping

              • Enforce safety and housekeeping standards
              • Ensure compliance with OSH Act and CCBA policies
              • Conduct audits and safety checks
              • Ensure statutory maintenance checks are completed
              • Correct unsafe work practices

              Skills, Experience & Education:

              Qualifications:

              • BSc in Mechanical, Industrial or Electrical Engineering
              • Added advantage: Experience in Packaging & Utility Management

              Experience:

              • Minimum 8 years in maintenance engineering
              • At least 5 years in packaging equipment maintenance

              Competencies:

              • Strong engineering and packaging systems knowledge
              • Asset management expertise
              • Project management understanding
              • Manufacturing systems and operations knowledge
              • Safety, Health & Environment compliance awareness
              • Financial and performance management understanding
