Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) Inspector at Simba Cement

Main Duties

• Provide efficient and effective assistance in the management of the company's Safety, Health & Environmental (SHE) programs, practices, policies, and standards to ensure the company achieves its SHE objectives.
• Implement NOSA and ISO systems.
• Maintain daily presence within the plant to ensure proper housekeeping standards are maintained.
• Promote SHE awareness through leading by example and training.
• Conduct daily inspections within the plant.
• Attend monthly departmental SHE meetings.
• Develop daily inspection reports, source data for monthly reports, follow up SHE compilation and reporting, and report any unsafe acts or conditions.
• Carry out daily SHE topics within your area of responsibility.
• Track, ensure reporting, and follow up on the correction of SHE non-conformances.
• Inspect daily permits to work and ensure proper adherence to procedures.
• Assist with compliance to the country's applicable legislation and follow up on any regulatory updates.
• Inspect the company's facilities and programs to evaluate operational effectiveness and compliance with SHE regulations and standards.
• Participate in SHE investigations and assist with recommendations.
• Actively participate in the planning and execution of emergency evacuation drills.
• Ensure OSHA compliance as per company and statutory requirements.
• Observe relevant environmental policies and regulations.
• Ensure compliance with HM Group Code of Business Conduct, Compliance Policies, and Guidelines.
• Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

Minimum Requirements (Qualifications)

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Health and Environment, Occupational Health and Safety, Disaster and Safety Management, Industrial Safety and Risk Management, Process Safety Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Industrial), or any other related field.
• Certification in NEBOSH, SAMTRAC, NOSHC, NOSA, or equivalent.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and general Environmental Management System (EMS) implementation.
• Knowledge of the NOSA system and/or any other safety management system.
• At least 3 years of experience in Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE).
• Good understanding of OSHA and environmental legislative requirements.
• Understanding of how to manage and coordinate internal audits, site inspections, and induction programs.
• Good knowledge of work permits, risk assessment, and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA).
• Ability to design and deliver safety training programs.
• Good report writing and presentation skills.
• Excellent record management and documentation skills.
• Good knowledge of Microsoft 365.
