Job Description
The role holder will be responsible for developing assigned channel(s), managing travel, agriculture and micro initiatives, and growing presence & diversifying product portfolio to provide sales and operations related support growth with an aim of growing the revenue and number of customers within the emerging consumer segment. The role will report to the Sales Manager- Direct and Alternative Channel Manager.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with product development teams to design insurance products that cater to the needs of diverse populations, including underrepresented communities, underserved communities, financially unprivileged communities, and other marginalized groups.
- Assist in developing marketing and outreach initiatives to raise awareness about our inclusive insurance products and services among target communities.
- Provide training and support to sales teams to ensure they have the knowledge and resources to effectively communicate the benefits of inclusive insurance to clients and intermediaries.
- Act as a liaison between the company and community organizations, advocacy groups, partners and other stakeholders to gather feedback and insights on how to improve our inclusive insurance offerings.
- Collaborate with internal departments, including customer service and claims processing, to ensure that our insurance products and programs are accessible and easy to understand for all customers.
- Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory requirements, and best practices related to inclusive insurance and incorporate this knowledge into our product development and marketing strategies.
- Champion diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives within the company, fostering a culture of respect, empathy, and understanding among colleagues.
- Ensure retention of clients, intermediaries, and partners as per segment targets
- Delegated Authority: As per the approved Delegated Authority Matrix
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned from time to time
- Deliver on performance requirements as defined in the departments strategy map, balanced score card and personal score card
Internal Relationships:
- Accountable to the Sales Manager-Direct and Alternative Channel
- Required to liaise and work closely with employees from other departments and within the Britam Group as may be necessary
- External Relationships:
- Britam customers and partners
- Insurance sector players
- Agents, banks, brokers, sales force executives and other partners
- Government Regulatory Authorities
Knowledge, Experience And Qualifications Required
- Bachelor's in business marketing, business, finance, or a related field.
- Previous experience in the insurance industry, with a focus on inclusive insurance, diversity, equity, and inclusion, or related fields.
- Strong understanding of the principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion, with a demonstrated commitment to promoting these values within the workplace and the broader community.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with colleagues, clients, and external partners.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data-driven recommendations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other relevant software applications.
