Job Description
Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Underwriter to evaluate applications, assess risk, and make informed decisions in line with company policies and regulatory requirements. The successful candidate will work closely with clients, brokers, sales teams, and other stakeholders to ensure sound underwriting decisions while supporting business growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess financial, operational, and risk-related information.
- Apply standard rate calculate premium, and underwrite new business renewals, endorsement and cancelation.
- Generation of renewal notices and followup.
- Analyse applicant documentation and verify its accuracy.
- Determine eligibility and approve, decline, or recommend applications based on underwriting guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with standard of services /Customer service charter in all underwriting operations.
- Prepare underwriting reports and maintain accurate records.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business Administration, Economics, Insurance, Banking, or a related field.
- Professional certifications in underwriting or risk management are an added advantage.
- Minimum of 2–5 years of underwriting experience (depending on the role level).
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and underwriting systems.
- Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements.
