Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To assist in operation and maintenance of propulsion and auxiliary machinery;
  • To assist in maintaining engine room logbooks and records;
  • To assist in monitoring fuel consumption and lubrication systems;
  • To assist in troubleshooting machinery faults;
  • To assist in ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations;
  • To perform any other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience:

Holder of Bachelor Degree or Advanced Diploma in Marine Engineering from a recognized institution. Must possess Class 4 Certificate of Competence (COC) and be registered by Engineers Registration Board (ERB).

2.0 NAVIGATING OFFICER - 3 Posts

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To assist in navigating vessels safely and efficiently;
  • To assist in maintaining navigational equipment and charts;
  • To assist in planning voyages and monitoring weather conditions;
  • To assist in ensuring compliance with international maritime regulations;
  • To assist in managing deck crew and cargo operations;
  • To perform any other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience:

Holder of Bachelor Degree or Advanced Diploma in Nautical Science or Maritime Transport from a recognized institution. Must possess Class 4 Certificate of Competence (COC) and be registered by Tanzania Maritime Authority (TMA).

3.0 PORT OPERATIONS OFFICER - 2 Posts

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To assist in coordinating vessel traffic and berthing operations;
  • To assist in monitoring port security and safety compliance;
  • To assist in managing cargo loading and discharge activities;
  • To assist in maintaining port operational records;
  • To assist in liaising with shipping agents and customs authorities;
  • To perform any other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience:

Holder of Bachelor Degree in Maritime Transport, Logistics Management, or Port Management from a recognized institution.

Salary Scale:

TSS 4.1

4.0 MARINE SURVEYOR - 1 Post

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To assist in inspecting vessels for seaworthiness and regulatory compliance;
  • To assist in investigating marine accidents and incidents;
  • To assist in surveying cargo and hull conditions;
  • To assist in preparing survey reports and recommendations;
  • To assist in enforcing maritime safety standards;
  • To perform any other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience:

Holder of Bachelor Degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering, or Maritime Studies from a recognized institution. Must be registered by ERB or TMA.
