Job Description

The School of St Jude is a pioneering leader in charitable education within Africa. Every year we give 1,800 students with free, quality education, 100’s of graduates with access to higher education, and provide more than 20,000 government school students with quality teachers. St Jude’s is funded by generous supporters from around the world who make our mission of giving bright, poor Tanzanian students a free, quality education possible.

Who are you

  • A creative, enthusiastic educator with a passion for visual communication and digital design.
  • Someone who loves exploring new tools, techniques, and technologies in graphics design.
  • A mentor at heart—patient, innovative, and dedicated to helping students produce quality projects.
  • You go to sleep at night dreaming about transforming young learners into confident digital creators.

What you’ll do

  • Teach foundational and intermediate graphics design skills to secondary-level students’ holiday program.
  • Lead hands-on sessions using tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and other design software.
  • Guide students through real projects such as posters, logos, digital art, and branding concepts.
  • Develop lesson plans and assessments aligned with the 2-month holiday program outcomes.
  • Work closely with the Career Guidance and Clubs Department to ensure high-quality learning experiences.

What we’re looking for

  • Degree or diploma in Graphics Design, Visual Communication, Multimedia, or related field.
  • Proven experience teaching or working professionally in design.
  • Strong command of design software and current industry trends.
  • Excellent communication and classroom-management skills.
  • Creative, self-driven, organised, and passionate about youth development.

Why us

  • The opportunity to use your talents and expertise to fight poverty through education and make a positive impact in Tanzania
  • A flexible and supportive community of international and local employees
  • Ample opportunities for career progression and development
  • Mid-morning tea and lunch (during working days)
