The key purpose of this role is to ensure effective maintenance planning and execution for applicable equipment. This includes ensuring that maintenance plans are in place, the required spares are available, and the necessary resources are secured to execute planned work. During planned maintenance outages, the role monitors the effectiveness of the maintenance plan and makes recommendations to the Maintenance Controller, Unit Manager and Packaging Engineer when unforeseen work arises.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

Maintain a safe and healthy working environment

  • Comply with safety, health and environmental procedures and legislation
  • Maintain safety and housekeeping standards

Plan for the effective maintenance, calibration, repair of equipment and optimization of plant and associated devices

  • Locate plant, equipment, spares and relevant documentation / systems
  • Develop the plan
  • Tags and work airings from inspection tasks are planned to carry out repairs
  • Continuously improve (optimize) plans and looks for opportunities to reduce the overall planned maintenance outage, whilst ensuring that all required work is carried and plant is not placed at risk

Apply the VPO principles and practices

  • All work is carried out using the VPO principles
  • Understands, Implements and Complies to the GOP requirements
  • Sustains what has been implemented

Minimum Requirements:

  • Diploma in Engineering(Mechanical/Electrical) or equivalent and trade
  • Min – Trade tested Millwright (N6) Electrical Technician (N6)
  • Ammonia CAT A & B Certification
  • Min – 3 - 5 years production engineering in a FMCG environment
  • 5 years Utilities Engineering experience with 5 years in supervisory level
  • Knowledge of Brewing and Packaging plant will be an advantage PC literate (Proficiency in Microsoft office applications)
