Job Title: Housekeeper (Short-Term Rental)

Job Summary:
We are looking for a reliable housekeeper to clean and maintain short-term rental houses. The goal is to make sure each guest finds the house clean, comfortable, and ready to stay. The housekeeper will also help guide guests when needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clean rooms, bathrooms, kitchen, and all living areas
  • Change bed sheets and towels and restock supplies
  • Ensure the house is neat, organized, and well-presented
  • Check for any damages or maintenance issues and report them
  • Prepare the house before guest arrival and after checkout
  • Follow cleaning schedules and company standards
  • Assist and guide guests politely when needed
  • Handle cleaning tools and supplies properly
  • Ensure safety and hygiene standards are maintained
  • Ability to use online platforms and mobile apps (such as booking systems or messaging tools)
  • Comfortable communicating with clients through chat, responding to inquiries in a polite and timely manner
  • Ability to troubleshoot small issues (e.g., Wi-Fi connection problems, basic home appliance issues)
  • Ability to coordinate and communicate with fundis (technicians) when repairs or maintenance are needed
  • Responsible for cleaning outdoor areas and ensuring the surrounding environment is clean and well-maintained
  • Properly collect and dispose of garbage according to hygiene and safety standards
  • Responsible for collecting and securely keeping customer information in line with data protection regulations and company policies

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English and Swahili
  • Good interpersonal skills (friendly, respectful, and helpful)
  • Honest and trustworthy with high integrity
  • Flexible and able to work different shifts, including weekends
  • Ability to guide and assist guests when needed
  • Good attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Physically fit and able to handle cleaning tasks
  • Must be a resident of Arusha, preferably living close to Arusha town

Education:

  • Form Four education with a good pass in English and Swahili
  • A certificate or training in Hotel Management or Hospitality is an added advantage
  • Any training in cleaning, housekeeping, or customer service is a plus
