We’re Attitude, and we’re coming soon. In 2025, we’re opening our very first hotel outside Mauritius, right here in Matemwe: an adults-only hotel with 74 villas, two restaurants and two bars. It’s a new chapter for us, and we’re putting a lot of heart into making it something special.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Strategic Goals for the Laundry Supervisor:​​

  • Company Culture & Employee Engagement: Maintain and reinforce company culture in daily operations, creating a positive, engaging experience for both employees and customers. Ensure legal compliance.​​
  • Transparent Communication: Foster open, transparent communication with all Family Members to build trust, improve engagement, and enhance teamwork.​​
  • Leadership & People Management: Promote a culture of proximity with employees, create and maintain a great place to work culture, ensuring employees are physically, emotionally and psychologically safe in their work environment. ​​
  • Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Foster a culture of transversality by promoting cross-departmental collaboration and communication to achieve common goals.​​

Operational/Technical Responsibilities:​​

  1. Operational Oversight:
  • Supervise the entire laundry operation, including washing, drying, ironing, folding, and distribution of linen and guest clothing.​
  • Monitor productivity and ensure timely delivery of laundered items to all departments.​
  • Maintain inventory of laundry supplies, chemicals, and linen stock.​

2. Quality Control:

  • Ensure that all laundered items meet hotel quality standards.​
  • Conduct regular inspections of linen and equipment for damage, wear, or safety concerns.​
  • Address and rectify guest complaints or issues related to laundry services.​

3. Staff Supervision and Training:

  • Lead, motivate, and train laundry staff to perform their duties effectively.​
  • Schedule shifts and manage workload to ensure adequate staffing levels.​
  • Conduct performance evaluations and recommend staff development plans.​

4. Maintenance and Safety:

  • Ensure proper maintenance and cleanliness of all laundry equipment.​
  • Report equipment malfunctions and coordinate with engineering for timely repairs.​
  • Enforce compliance with safety regulations and hygiene standards.​

5. Cost Control:

  • Monitor usage of chemicals and utilities to minimize waste.​
  • Assist in budgeting and cost control strategies for laundry operations.​

6. Coordination and Communication:

  • Coordinate with housekeeping, front office, and other departments to meet linen requirements.​
  • Maintain records of linen usage, guest laundry, and machine maintenance logs.​

YOUR QUALITIES: ​​

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in hotel laundry operations, with at least 1-2 years in a supervisory role.​
  • Prior experience in a 4-star or 5-star hotel environment is highly preferred.​
  • Familiarity with industrial laundry equipment and laundry management systems.​
  • Ability to embody and instil Attitude’s DNA and culture within the hotel.​
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an enthusiastic and outgoing personality.​
  • Attention to detail with a commitment to quality service.​
  • Knowledge of laundry chemicals and fabric care.​
  • Excellent communication skills: Clear, professional verbal and written skills and fluency in English and Swahili. A third language would be a definite advantage.​
  • An understanding of the African Market will be a definite advantage.​
  • Ability to compete in a fast-paced, dynamic and guest centric environment​
