Marine Guide at Attitude Hotels Tanzania

We are moving to Zanzibar in 2025! Attitude is opening its first high end hotel villas in Matemwe, which will be an adults-only hotel with 74 villas, two restaurants and two bars. We are looking for a Marine Eco Guide who cares about people, the community and sustainability! We are a B Corp company and Great Place to Work certified since 2017 and we want you to instil our commitments, company DNA and sense of fun on a ‘glocal’ level. Of course, it is also about creating a customer experience that stands out!

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Marine Eco-guide, you will:

• Lead the daily operations of the Marine Discovery Centre (MDC)
• Enhance the guest experience and increase MDC visibility by delivering interactive educational workshops on marine and coastal themes
• Assist the Marine Discovery Centre Manager in developing educational tools for MDC Matemwe.
• Drive the identification and assessment of potential partners in marine environmental education and protection, evaluate ongoing and upcoming conservation projects, and manage day-to-day collaboration with partners/NGOs.
• Collaborate with our Marine Discovery team in Mauritius
• Reporting to the Sustainability Manager based at Matemwe hotel, with regular project reviews by the Marine Discovery Centre Manager in Mauritius.

YOUR QUALITIES

• A Degree in Marine Biology or a related field is a plus, but not required
• Experience in customer service or guest relations
• Enthusiasm for snorkeling and the underwater world
• Fluency in English (spoken and written), and Swahili (spoken)
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a passion for engaging people
• Creativity, proactiveness, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team
• Excellent multitasking abilities
• Ability to compete in a fast-paced, dynamic and guest centric environment
• Previous experience in a similar role is an advantage
