Job Description
SUMET is a fast-growing Tech-enabled distribution company transforming the process of new product launches, building credit scoring to provide BNPL to retailers and wholesalers.
Role Summary:
The HR Generalist will play a key role in delivering comprehensive HR support across all departments, ensuring the implementation of effective HR policies and systems. This position requires strong experience in human resources and administration, a proactive approach to people management, and a passion for organizational development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review compensation and benefits packages.
- Administer staff medical and insurance programs.
- Implement training and development initiatives across departments.
- Coordinate quarterly and annual performance reviews and reward programs.
- Inform employees about benefits, including additional work allowances and overtime policies.
- Maintain accurate employee records including onboarding, changes in status, and exits.
- Maintain and update organizational charts, job descriptions, and salary records.
- Forecast hiring needs and manage end-to-end recruitment processes.
- Develop, review, and enforce HR policies across the organization.
- Support department heads in monitoring budget allocations related to HR and administration.
- Manage employee queries with efficiency and discretion.
- Oversee administrative functions and support company-wide operations.
- Coordinate onboarding and offboarding procedures.
- Stay compliant with current labor laws and update management on regulatory changes.
Qualifications & Competencies:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (HR certifications are a plus).
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive HR experience.
- Prior experience in the FMCG industry is preferred.
- Strong understanding of Tanzanian labor laws and HR best practices.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
- Strong analytical and decision-making abilities.
- High level of integrity, confidentiality, and attention to detail.
- Experience with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
