Job Purpose

  • The Inventory Control Manager is responsible for ensuring all Engie Mobisol’s stock holding points are complying to set rules, standard operating procedures and that inventory is reported, discrepancies are identified with their sources, physical stock audits are conducted as per agreed calendar, and weekly, monthly, and quarterly stock validations are conducted.
  • Controlling inventory includes ensuring proper movements of stock in and out of stock holding points around the country. And preparing and maintaining tools to facilitate the capturing and analysis of such movements for cases where provided systems are inadequate or adequate.
  • Driving development and implementation of team purpose, principles, and values in alignment with EEA purpose, principles, and values.

Responsibilities:

  • Inventory Oversight & Reporting
  • Ensure daily and weekly stock status reporting across all shops and warehouses.
  • Lead monthly inventory reporting and discrepancy reconciliation with Finance.
  • Consolidate and validate inventory data from Zonal Inventory Control Officers (ZICOs).
  • Stock Movement & Tracking
  • Monitor and document stock movements nationwide in collaboration with Logistics.
  • Develop tools to capture and analyze stock movements when systems fall short
  • Manage QR code reassignments for returned products and update databases accordingly.
  • Returned Products & Repossessions
  • Establish cost-effective tracking systems for returned and repossessed products.
  • Collaborate with Finance, Repossession, Logistics, and Warehouse teams for control and reporting.
  • Stock Audits & Discrepancy Management
  • Coordinate quarterly and surprise physical stock audits.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies, including disciplinary actions and insurance claims.
  • Maintain up-to-date audit tools and provide training on audit procedures.
  • SAP Effectiveness
  • Monitor and reconcile SAP inventory transactions (sales, swaps, technical use, etc.).
  • Generate and analyze SAP reports to support decision-making.
  • Resolve system vs. physical inventory mismatches with Finance support.
  • Data Accuracy & Continuous Improvement
  • Improve data accuracy across all supply chain databases, including contractors and 3PDs.
  • Identify gaps in inventory processes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain and enhance inventory control tools and documentation.
  • Analyze departmental internal inventory procedures then provide solutions that are cost effective and lean.
  • Supporting Head, in effective and continuous risk management and:
  • Group Ethics, Health, Safety, Security and Environment
  • Fire Safety
  • Roads and Transports
  • Insurance and Brokers
  • Timely insurance cases reporting to the Broker and Head of HR – in case there are missing inventory detected during stock audits
  • Subordinates Effectiveness:
  • Regular review of the KPIs, performance assessment vs KPIs along with related internal and external reporting.
  • Ensure staff understands the context of their roles in relation to Mobisol’s strategy
  • Ensure member staff when performing their duties exhibit proper / acceptable behavior.
  • Ensure performance consequences are taken into a serious account.
  • i.e., recognize best performers and manager poor performers from time to time through both, formal and informal feedback.
  • Assess and monitor the training and development needs of the staff members.
  • Ensure staff have the resources they require to perform their work
  • Lean Management: Ensure 5S is effectively implemented and followed by all team members in Mobisol.
  • Other
  • Ensure Health, safety and environmental standards are adhered to, through Zonal Service Coordinators.
  • Undertaking any other duties which may be assigned by the Supervisor.

Key Accountabilities

  • Zonal Inventory Controlling Team’s (ZICOS and Shop Agent) performance

Requirements:

  • Minimum holder of bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics and Inventory Management, Business Analytics, or a related field.
  • At least three years of working experience, ideally including work with (senior) management.
  • Certification in Inventory Control and Management or any other relevant certification in supply chain management including CIPS, CLTD, PSPTB, ASCIM, CSCP etc. is an added advantage
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Reliable team player with very good communication skills and a can-do attitude
  • Very good computer skills (MS Office); experience with using databases, spreadsheets and SAP is required
  • Well-organized self-starter with a passion for Engie Mobisol and its mission
  • Fluency in the CO language and English
  • Willingness to travel nationally

Language(s):

  • Fluency in Swahili and English languages with excellent verbal communication skills.
