Job Purpose

The Video Reporter (Retainer) is responsible for identifying, gathering, filming, interviewing, and producing high-quality video news stories for digital and social media platforms. The role focuses on delivering accurate, timely, and engaging visual journalism while adhering to the organization's editorial standards, ethical guidelines, and legal requirements. The Video Reporter is expected to respond promptly to both breaking news and planned assignments.

Key Responsibilities

• Gather news, information, and stories in Dodoma throughout the day.
• Produce high-quality video news content for digital and social media platforms.
• Enhance news stories using video and other multimedia content.
• Generate creative video ideas that appeal to multiple audiences across different platforms.
• Review and rewrite scripts based on the specific requirements of each story.
• Create at least five (5) videos daily for MCL social media platforms from Dodoma.
• Edit and publish at least three (3) videos daily.
• Publish news stories across multimedia platforms.
• Conduct interviews and capture high-quality video footage.
• Obtain all necessary permissions and consents before filming where required.
• Ensure compliance with privacy, copyright, confidentiality, and ethical journalism standards.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, Media Studies, or a related field.
• Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in video reporting, journalism, or digital content production.
