Logistics Manager - 1 Post
Job Summary
The Logistic Officer deals with administration of all Logistics activities of the Company. Logistic officer will lead the logistic department providing and setting proper logistics procedures. Logistic officer will be responsible for preparing reports, and updates of all logistics activities as outlined in his job description and submit to the management.
Job Description
- Receive and manage shipping instructions from the Head Office and follow up with the responsible teams to ensure that the stuffing of the shipments is correctly done in accordance with the standard requirements.
- Arrange to follow up customs clearance on imports and exports by liaising with clearing agents, shipping lines, and arrange warehousing and delivery in accordance with the provisions of customs law.
- Continuously liaise with the Government bodies and agencies that provide Pre-Export Verification of Conformity to Standards (PVoC) on imports and exports.
- Prepare requests and arrange for inspections for imports and exports that require a certificate of conformity (CoC) through liaising with agencies for issuing of certificates of conformity that demonstrate the products are in compliance with the local or approved international standards.
- Ensure regular continuous follow up on editing and approval of shipping documents (e.g., Waybills, Bills of Lading, commercial invoices, and various relevant certificates), through liaison with the shipping lines and forwarders to ensure that they are correct, complete and have been prepared in accordance with the established international Commercial standards/Terms (INCOTERMS) before dispatch to the respective consignees.
- Prepare correspondences to different Government agencies where necessary for any import or export that requires approval or permission.
- Arrange for processing of Customs Bond and preparing of Customs Bond Renewals on annual basis whenever due for the temporarily imported tobacco.
- Oversee and prepare final accountability of temporarily imported tobacco for submission to agencies at the period the entire consignment is fully re-exported and after retirement of Customs bond/CB10A.
- Liaise with Managers on issues relating to; processing of permission for the importation of tobacco inputs (e.g., fertilizers, chemicals, etc.), tobacco sponsorships annual applications for submission to the concerned Ministry and with for submission of forecasts and targets for the Government compilation of Gross Domestic Products (GDP).
- Support and liaise with Administration/Finance for continuous follow up on all insurance company policies undertaken, such as comprehensive motor insurance, workers compensation, money and fidelity, goods in transit and industrial all risk by ensuring that all these policies are updated, and all claims lodged are honored on time.
- Provide overall supervision and training of logistics staff on all issues related to the supply chain operations in the company.
- Liaise with sister companies for the logistical support and related supply chain operations and management.
- Manage customs declarations in liaison with the clearing agents and continuous follow up on the import/export shipments by ensuring that Customs provides updates regarding the manifests for all the shipments as they arrive on appropriate time in order to avoid over accrued demurrage charges.
- Liaise with administration /Finance to ensure that any licenses regarding operation of the company are up to date/ renewed where applicable and license fees paid on time.
- Performing all other duties as and when assigned by the management.
Requirement:
- Degree in Business Administration or its equivalent in a related field
- At least 5 years of hands-on demonstrated technical and professional working experience in providing technical programmatic/logistic management support, supply chain management in the private sector and coupled with a good knowledge of Universal internationally recognized trading terms developed by the international Chamber of Commerce, which are used for purchase and shipping of goods in the international marketplace.
- Knowledge in financial management, procurement & project management, logistics and improved skills in coordination, supervision, and monitoring of all related operational activities in the supply chain management within the private sector.
- Good communication / computer skills.
- Willingness to work extra hours, as and when required.
Tobacco Area Leaf Manager - 1 Post
Job Summary
Area Leaf Manager will co-ordinate and manage all operations in the growing region to ensure the Company meet the production target required by supervising Farm technicians on their day-to-day activities. Also responsible to provide information time to time reports to the management on potential tobacco production movement.
Job Description
- Timely prepare, and implement and continuously monitor a crop action plan for the production of the agreed quality, quantity and cost of tobacco leaf.
- Timely evaluate and communicate the progress on the approved action plan and leaf Centre objectives to enable timely, effective and efficient decision making.
- Provide professional & technical coaching and assistance to the extension personnel and farmers to enable them grow high quality and quantity of tobacco at optimize returns.
- Continuously evaluate competitor activity and put in place counter measures to maintain competitive advantage.
- Disseminate as appropriate company policy on Growing Tobacco to farmers and the community for good corporate image
- Implement, coach and ensure compliance by all direct and indirect reports on all company guidelines and policies.
- Timely plan, forecast & communicate materials & supplies (M&S) requirement for the leaf center.
- Identify, evaluate & manage business risks within the leaf growing region implementing short and long-term management measures.
- Maintain on an on-going basis, good relations with all local stakeholders and community, local and national government departments and also business fraternity.
- Direct and co-ordinate leaf purchases, to ensure that leaf buying is carried out in a timely and accurate manner.
- Effectively manage loan issued to farmers to ensure crop quality and quantity objectives are met while minimizing risk.
Requirements:
- Minimum Bachelor degree in Agriculture, Agribusiness or Horticulture or any related field
- Self-drive and high integrity
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in the field with ability to demonstrate practical competence knowledge in leaf grading capabilities.
- Good knowledge of tobacco agronomy and postharvest activities including curing, sorting, grading and baling.
- Ability to relate physical characteristics of tobacco leaf to quality. 6. Valid driving license
