Job Description

Role Overview: As a Driver Supervisor, you will oversee a team of drivers, ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of goods or passengers. Your responsibilities will include coordinating driver schedules, providing leadership and guidance, and maintaining vehicle safety standards. The ideal candidate will have experience in team management, possess a valid Class C driving license, and demonstrate proficiency in driving manual vehicles, especially in rural or upcountry areas.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Team Leadership and Management:

    • Supervise a team of drivers, providing direction, support, and coaching as needed.
    • Coordinate driver schedules, assignments, and routes to ensure timely and efficient transportation services.
    • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to drivers to enhance their skills and productivity.
  2. Vehicle Safety and Maintenance:

    • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies regarding vehicle operation and maintenance.
    • Conduct regular inspections of vehicles to identify and address any maintenance or repair needs promptly.
    • Monitor driver adherence to safety protocols and provide training on safe driving practices as necessary.
  3. Driving Operations:

    • Lead by example by driving company vehicles as needed, particularly in rural or upcountry areas.
    • Assist in route planning and navigation, optimizing routes for efficiency and timeliness.
    • Respond promptly to any emergencies or incidents that may arise during transportation operations.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • High school certificate or diploma.
  • Valid Class C driving license with a clean driving record.
  • Proven experience in team management or supervisory role.
  • Proficiency in driving manual vehicles, especially in rural or upcountry areas.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to effectively coordinate driver schedules and assignments.
  • Knowledge of vehicle maintenance procedures and safety regulations.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure, particularly during emergencies.
