Job Description
Logistics Project Control Leader - Tanzania
On behalf of a major Oil & Gas operator, WRS is seeking a highly skilled Project Control Lead – Logistics to oversee cost, schedule, reporting, and documentation management for the logistics package as part of a major cross-country pipeline project. The role will provide leadership, coordination, and governance across all logistics control activities to ensure safe, timely, and cost-effective delivery in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment.
The role will be offered on a 12 month renewable contract, rotating 8/2 into Tanzania, paying a day rate in USD.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of the logistics control team, integrating company and contractor personnel.
- Coordinate cost control, scheduling, and progress monitoring activities to ensure accurate and timely project performance tracking.
- Implement project control procedures and align logistics execution with broader project directives.
- Oversee day-to-day contract administration, including change order management, scope variation tracking, and contractor performance monitoring.
- Prepare and review budget forecasts, multi-year cost estimates, and annual work programs.
- Maintain mobilisation/demobilisation plans and ensure proper resourcing in collaboration with HR.
- Manage the documentation control system for logistics activities, ensuring quality and completeness for operational handover.
- Support IT and systems requirements for the logistics team.
- Participate in contractor progress meetings, technical reviews, and regular project status updates.
- Report to the Logistics Manager on progress, risks, and areas requiring attention.
- Capture lessons learned and provide feedback to improve project execution.
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.
- 10–15 years’ experience in the oil & gas industry, with at least 5 years in a project control leadership role.
- Strong track record in cost control, scheduling, and contract administration for major projects.
- Experience with large-scale logistics operations in remote or challenging environments.
- Excellent interpersonal, coordination, and communication skills.
