Senior Director Logistics Operations at DP World Tanzania

As the Senior Director of Logistics Operations for DP World Angola / Mozambique / Senegal / Tanzania reporting to the Managing Director – 4PL: Supply Chain Solutions, you will execute the Country / Subregion Logistics strategy and capability priorities. The role is instrumental in growing our existing offering within an end-to-end supply chain solution. This role will be responsible for the leadership, strategic alignment, logistics business development and commercial coordination within Logistics, identify and grow adjacent opportunities to the 4PL capability. The role will directly contribute towards the 4PL revenue and appropriate financial targets. The role links and provides customer solutions leveraging all DP World capabilities in the region.

Key Performance Areas

• Refine the end-to-end supply chain solutions strategy aligned to DP World Group Capabilities and KPl's priorities.
• Set strategic direction for the Inland Logistics capability within the country / sub - region and associated capabilities, and cascade strategic priorities into the cluster and Operating Companies.
• Establish and align the required Logistics for the country / sub - region & land linked countries, standards and capabilities to ensure that it supports and enables the DP World Logistics objectives and strategy and drives a high performing team.
• Develop, implement, and take accountability for back of Port solutions, and beyond port solutions, leveraging railways and inland transport solutions according to company goals and objectives aiming to accelerate growth and positively influence revenue, operating profit and return on invested capital.
• Lead key customer relationships and serve as an expert for logistics solutions for land linked countries. Identify and understand the opportunities, challenges and potential partner priorities to establish mutually beneficial partnerships/commercial relationships.
• Identify key areas for border ICD's that can facilitate fast transit across the border.
• Pro-actively work with internal and external stakeholders, both logistics and ports commercial teams, to ensure that the country Logistics market/service positioning in Southern / East / West Africa is clear and defined to maximise growth opportunities.
• Support and implement mid-term business development plans including budget and P&L responsibility for Logistics in the relevant country.
• Expand and grow all potential Supply Chain & Logistics opportunities linked to the Ports & Terminal capability in the relevant country beyond current operations, in accordance with DP World Global priorities and strategies. This will include growth, expansion and management of potential business opportunities across all capabilities currently non-existence in the country.
• Ensure that country P&T operations (including value-added services), such as cold storage solutions and commercial aspects are coordinated and executed in way that ensures revenue optimization and optimal customer service.
• Ensure, and assume ultimate accountability for the implementation of continuous improvement, health, safety and sustainability best practices for the Supply Chain & Logistics in the country.

Qualifications Required

• Bachelor's Degree in Procurement and Supply Chain Management / Logistics or another relevant field.

Experience and Skills Required

• 10+ years' experience in shipping & Logistics.
• 8+ years in a similar or senior executive role for a global supply chain multinational.
• Proven experience and demonstrable success in establishing, scaling, and growing logistics operations across multiple countries and capabilities, including cross-border service development, operational setup, commercial growth, and team enablement.
• Country specific experience, notably proven experience in dealing with local cultural, legal, government structures and sociopolitical nuances.
