The Maintenance Manager will ensure that all production equipment, machinery and facilities are maintained safely, efficiently and cost-effectively. The role supports smooth plant operations by reducing downtime and improving equipment performance. It includes leading maintenance teams, planning preventive and corrective maintenance, managing budgets, and driving operational reliability.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Develop, implement, and monitor a comprehensive maintenance program (both preventive and corrective) for all plant machinery, production lines, utilities, and infrastructure.
  • Establish a maintenance schedule that minimizes disruption to production and ensures all equipment is functioning at peak efficiency.
  • Lead and manage the maintenance team, including technicians, engineers, and support staff.
  • Oversee the maintenance and repair of critical machinery used in production, such as crushers, mills, kilns, conveyors, mixers, and packaging equipment.
  • Ensure timely repairs and maintenance activities to avoid unplanned downtime and optimize production capacity.
  • Ensure the proper functioning of the plant’s electrical systems, compressed air systems, and hydraulic equipment.
  • Monitor equipment performance and efficiency, identifying and implementing improvements to reduce energy consumption and increase reliability.
  • Maintain an organized inventory of spare parts, tools, and materials required for maintenance activities.
  • Comply with company safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Conduct regular inspections of plant equipment.
  • Monitor equipment performance and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Investigate breakdowns, identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain maintenance records, reports and documentation.

What we’d love for you to have:

We are interested in you as a person: your attitude, behaviors and values. As long as you have the willingness to learn anything you need for the role that you don't already have, we'd love to speak to you. If you have experience and qualification in the following areas is an added advantage:

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, Electrical, Industrial or Maintenance Engineering.
  • At least 5 years of maintenance experience, with a minimum of 2 years leading a team
  • Strong technical knowledge of mechanics and electromechanical systems.
  • Proficiency in computer software programs or other maintenance management systems
  • Knowledge about all aspects of physics and engineering.
  • Strong knowledge of preventive maintenance systems and asset management
  • Experience with plant equipment, facilities systems and contractor management
  • Good understanding of health and safety regulations
  • Technical troubleshooting
  • Strong people leadership skills, with the ability to coach and develop team members.
