Job Purpose

The successful candidate will ensure the business delivers its strategic goals by developing capital projects that will deliver our sustainable and strategic objectives. They will manage the business's longer-term capital programme by stress testing projects from concept into viable business cases for possible inclusion into stage and gate.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

• Handle confidential information associated with employees, business financials, and commercials.
• Work with the Executive team to formulate and steer the future capital programme across all functions.
• Manage the Capital Stage and Gate process, ensuring close integration of functional leads and specialists to ensure clarity of quality specifications to deliver expected value and benefits.
• Stress test all technical specifications of all applications with functional specialists.
• Undertake research and data analysis as required to support decision-making processes.
• Work with the Executive team and ABF Sugar RDO to prioritise opportunities.
• Be accountable and responsible for developing strategic programmes from initial concept to pre-appraise, specifically the 5-year capital roadmap and business development pipeline.
• Work with the Executive team and ABF Sugar One Centre to commercialise concepts into clear project business cases.
• Support the drive for the inclusion of the ESG/CSR strategy within the capital programme.
• Deliver the Request for Tender, adjudication, and decision process on behalf of the functions.
• Deliver concepts to validated business cases enabling the business to plan capital projects over a 5 to 10-year horizon.
• Create and communicate a clear 5 to 10-year project plan enabling the business to make decisions on options to deliver strategic objectives.

• Leadership and Management Skills.

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of performance improvement programmes.
• Proven experience in change management and its application within project management.
• Broad experience in programme management, including identification of opportunities as well as risks.
• Ability to establish pragmatic value-adding governance programmes.
• Ability and credibility to influence at the most senior levels as well as work across a range of cultures and work levels.
• Business focus and understanding, as well as operational credibility.
• Ability to build relationships, partner with businesses, and demonstrate a track record of delivery.
• Expert project management capability.
