Job Description

The Digital Transformation Manager will support BRAC Tanzania Finance Limited in driving innovation through the implementation and optimization of digital delivery channels. The role is responsible for developing and delivering outstanding digital products and customer experiences, enhancing organizational efficiency, and ensuring the right balance between technology and human touch for BTFL customers. The Digital Transformation Manager will also think creatively and strategically to identify innovative technological solutions that address barriers related to access, usage, digital literacy, security, and overall customer inclusion.
Job Responsibilities
- Review, manage, and analyze existing business strategies on the use of Digital Financial Services, technology, and digital field applications, and implement them to provide guidance to management and ensure alignment with the business's overall strategy.
- Develop new and innovative products that meet the needs of target clients, leveraging available technology and alternative delivery channels.
- Lead the development and implementation of the digital strategy and work with teams to adapt their processes and products accordingly.
- Monitor digital technologies available in the market that may improve the quality and efficiency of field operations, product delivery, and service delivery.
- Develop and manage relationships with third parties such as digital solution providers, fintechs, developers, and other partners.
- Develop detailed functional requirements for digital tools and applications.
- Define implementation plans, including change management aspects, to maximize project impact.
- Work with other enabling stakeholders to maximize project impact.
Safeguarding Responsibilities
- Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment, and exploitation to achieve the programme's safeguarding goals.
- Act as a key source of support, guidance, and expertise on safeguarding to establish a safe working environment.
- Practice, promote, and endorse safeguarding policies among team members and ensure safeguarding standards are implemented in every course of action.
- Follow safeguarding reporting procedures in the event of any reportable incident and encourage others to do the same.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Project Planning and Management, Sales, Marketing, or a related field.
- Professional certification is an added advantage.
- At least three (3) years of related experience in financial inclusion, product development, digital finance, technology for development, or payment platforms.
- Experience in project management.
- Experience working with Mobile Network Operators, fintechs, financial institutions, or regulators is an added advantage.
- Familiarity and experience with financial institutions is preferred.
- Substantial exposure to Digital Financial Services (DFS) strategy management, including direct involvement in top management strategy formulation and decision-making.
- Experience participating in strategic decision-making processes and assessing business needs to make appropriate strategic choices.
Key Competencies
- Strong verbal presentation and writing skills, with the ability to explain complex technological concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate raw information into actionable strategies and initiatives.
- Ability to conduct performance, competitor, and market analysis.
- In-depth understanding of the key drivers in digital products and emerging technology businesses.
- Knowledge of how digital transformation is affecting the industry and awareness of best practices.
- Experience in digital project management, including translating business needs into functional specifications for digital tools.
