Job Description
Responsible for overseeing the end-to-end disbursement process for all unsecured and digital retail credit facilities, ensuring efficient, timely, and compliant processing in line with internal policies and external regulations
Main Responsibilities:
- Oversee all the digital product disbursements to ensure accuracy and efficiency while minimizing risks.
- Ensure loan disbursements are executed accurately and within agreed SLAs and turnaround times (TATs), without compromising risk and quality standards.
- Verify and authorize manually booked facilities, reversals, and restructured loans in the core banking system, as submitted by Business and Monitoring teams.
- Promote a culture of high ethical standards by ensuring strict adherence to the bank's values, policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with Risk, Credit, Legal, and Compliance teams to uphold disbursement quality and ensure alignment with internal credit policies.
- Work closely with ICT, Business, and Product teams to optimize existing disbursement workflows and design new processes that enhance operational efficiency.
- Maintain strong internal controls and ensure full compliance with disbursement procedures and regulatory guidelines.
- Manage and coach disbursement officers and senior officers to improve performance, engagement, and alignment with departmental goals.
- Proactively identify and report suspicious transactions, risk events, and system-related anomalies in accordance with established procedures.
- Monitor and review team activities to ensure adherence to standard operating procedures; escalate deviations and operational challenges as necessary.
- Prepare and submit accurate team performance reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
- Oversee the accuracy and completeness of data submitted for posting, ensuring careful review to protect the bank's interests and reputation.
- Daily review of disbursement transactions and report any system bug and wrong disbursement to ICT for quick fix.
- Collaborate with other stakeholders to review, enhance and finetuning digital products and workflow to attain high profits as well as scalability of the portfolio.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management to support broader departmental and organizational goals.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Operational understanding of the loan circle, lending policies and procedures, loan scheme, and digital products,
- Technical - Computer literacy (Excel application is crucial), Core banking system
- Behavioral - Data analysis, Time Management, Teamwork, attention to details, accuracy, result oriented, couching, leading team and adaptability.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Banking, Finance, Accounting, Economics or related fields.
- Banking operations certification is an added advantage,
- Data science/ Analytics certification is an added advantage
- At least 4 years of banking experience, preferably in retail credit operations
- Digital loan product experience is an added advantage.
