We at Yara are part of a global network, collaborating to profitably and responsibly solve some of the world's key challenges - resource scarcity, food insecurity and environmental change.
About The Unit
Join Yara and help us responsibly solve global challenges!
At Yara, we work to tackle resource scarcity, food insecurity, and environmental change. With a presence in over 140 countries and 15,500 employees worldwide, we are committed to sustainable solutions for the global food system. Yara Industrial Solutions (YIS) is a global unit within Yara International, serving diverse industries with innovative nitrogen-based products.
About The Role
Are you ready to make a real impact in shaping the future of mining solutions across East Africa? As Regional Sales Manager East Africa, you will be at the forefront of driving Yara’s growth in one of the most dynamic regions in the world. This is not just a sales role—it’s an opportunity to influence strategy, build strong partnerships, and deliver sustainable solutions that matter.
You will lead commercial development for our Mining Applications business, the global leader in technical ammonium nitrate (TAN), serving customers in over 100 countries. In this role, you’ll combine strategic thinking with hands-on execution, identifying new opportunities, strengthening customer relationships, and championing innovation and sustainability initiatives. Your work will directly contribute to safer, more efficient mining operations and help shape a greener future for the industry.
If you thrive in an international environment, enjoy building long-term partnerships, and want to be part of a company that invests in people and innovation, this is your chance to make a difference.
Why This Role Matters
Mining is essential to powering economies and building the infrastructure of tomorrow - but it must be done responsibly. By joining Yara, you will help transform the mining industry in East Africa through safer practices, sustainable solutions, and innovative approaches. Your leadership will not only drive commercial success but also contribute to reducing environmental impact and improving safety standards across the region.
Key Responsibilities
- Shape the Market: Develop and execute a regional commercial strategy that drives growth, profitability, and customer satisfaction across all product lines.
- Lead Customer Relationships: Build strong, long-term partnerships with key accounts, ensuring Yara is the trusted partner for mining solutions in East Africa.
- Business Development: Identify new business prospects and lead market intelligence efforts to stay ahead of industry trends and competitors.
- Champion Innovation: Implement sustainability and innovation initiatives that create value for customers and support Yara’s commitment to a greener future.
- Drive Excellence: Ensure adherence to Yara’s HESQ standards and Code of Conduct, fostering a culture of safety and integrity.
- Deliver Results: Prepare business cases, manage forecasts, and oversee logistics to ensure smooth execution and outstanding customer experience.
What We Are Looking For
- Education: University degree (Bachelor or higher) in a relevant field (Mining, Chemical, or related).
- Experience: Minimum 5 years of successful commercial experience in an international environment within the industry or similar sectors.
- Strong business acumen, problem-solving skills, and a results-oriented mindset.
- Knowledge of the explosives industry and technical nitrates is an advantage.
- Demonstrated stable career progression with increasing responsibility across previous commercial roles.
- Proven ability to deliver results and build long‑term customer relationships in complex, multi‑country environments.
- Fluency in English; proficiency in Swahili, French or Arabic is a plus.
- Willingness to travel frequently within the region.
