Job Description
Coca-Cola Kwanza Ltd has an exciting opportunity in Manufacturing Department. We are looking for a talented individual with the relevant skills and experience in Engineering for a Machine Specialist position, which will based in Mbeya. The successful candidate will report directly to the Plant Engineer.
Job Summary
- Maintain, repair, and optimise plant and associated devices to ensure plant availability and product quality at minimum cost without sacrificing standards.
- Provide specialised machine skills and knowledge to the shift team, and support operations, maintenance, and problem-solving activities.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Operational Support: Provide specialist support to shift-based teams (including standby and day shift), assist in problem-solving, provide guidance on machine fault finding, coach and mentor teams, take part in plant optimisation trials, and verify machines run at rated speeds. Ability to work shifts and be available on call-out is required.
- Planned & Routine Maintenance: Participate in maintenance planning, execute planned work according to schedules, complete SAP administration, partake in post-mortems, optimise schedules, and conduct routine cleaning, lubrication, condition monitoring, and inspections.
- Running Repairs: Assess problems, execute running repairs on plant and equipment, solicit OEM specialist assistance when required, and complete all related SAP administration tasks.
- Problem Solving: Apply correct problem-solving methodologies, escalate issues to the Maintenance Planner or Packaging Engineer when necessary, and coach team members through systemic problem-solving.
- Housekeeping & Safety: Operate safely, identify unsafe practices, apply 4S principles, and adhere to CCBA policies.
- NPD (New Product Development) Support: Support NPD trials on assets, ensure adherence to procedures, and document changes via Engineering Change Management processes.
- Training & Development: Train, coach, assess, and sign-off Process Artisans (PAs) and Operators on asset care and autonomous maintenance; develop operational standards and work instructions.
Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (instrumentation is an added advantage).
- 5 years’ work experience in engineering (experience in FMCG is an added advantage).
- Essential computer literacy, specifically Microsoft packages.
- Knowledge of SAP.
- Strong knowledge of packaging machines and their functionality within the specialist area.
