Tumaini La Maisha (TLM) Tanzania is a Tanzanian NGO with registration number 01435 based in Dar es Salaam and has its registered address at P.O. Box 65030. TLM supports the National Children's Cancer Network, which includes government hospitals across the country, at over 22 centers. Currently on collaborating with Make-A-Wish International, TLM is implementing an MAW program to realize wishes of child with cancer in Tanzania. POSITION DESCRIPTION

As a Fundraising and Marketing Officer, you play a vital role in supporting the mission of Make-A-Wish program. You will be fully responsible for planning, implementing and participating in fundraising activities at the local, regional and national levels. Your goal is to increase revenue, enhance program visibility and ensure that fundraising targets are met or exceeded through strategic fundraising, marketing and donor engagement initiatives.

Proactively initiating, organizing and leading events, social media as well as giving presentations to various stakeholders such as companies, schools and all types of organizations about the program are also part of your work.

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES

You are a commercial and creative person, taking initiative, being able to work autonomously as well as in a team. You are a person who contributes to the perfect execution of the regional and/or national fund-raising event. Besides that, you are aware of being the representative of the organization, you know how to handle stress, you are flexible and have strong communicative skills.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• You will actively engage with the local community to generate revenue by utilizing existing networks and creating new ones. Through strategic fundraising, marketing and donor engagement initiatives, you will ensure that fundraising targets are consistently met or exceeded.
  • You initiate, organize and lead fundraising activities, which include but not limited to regional and national events
• You recognize chances and opportunities in your region and know how to exploit these opportunities.
  • You give presentations at schools, companies and service clubs.
• You will be assisting with granting wishes for our wish children
• Marketing and social media engagement to increase program visibility.
• You will participate actively in meetings and will follow the training opportunities offered by Make-A-Wish.

QUALIFICATIONS

Possess a bachelor degree on the following; Non-profit Management, Public Administration, Business Administration, Development Studies, Marketing, Communications, Social Sciences or an equivalent level of knowledge and understanding.

• Possess well-developed interpersonal and communication abilities.
• Effectively utilizes established networks while proactively creating new connections.
• Demonstrates excellent organizational and planning abilities.
• Demonstrates strong ability to work effectively within a team environment.
• Acts as an ambassador for the organization.
• Flexible with time and effort. Note: Salary will be in accordance with rates typical of the charitable sector.
