Job Description

Mdundo is a leading music service providing easy and affordable access to African music. Our platform has 135 million downloads per month, connecting Africa's biggest brands to a vast audience. We collect rights to a unique African music catalog, which users can download and stream legally for free from our mobile website and Android app. Operating in Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Nigeria, Ghana, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Angola, and Rwanda, we tap into Africa’s growing digital advertisement industry.

Role Description

This is an internship role for a Social Media Manager & Content Marketer. The intern will be responsible for managing social media accounts, developing content strategies, optimizing social media presence (SMO), and creating engaging written content. This hybrid role is based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, but some work from home is acceptable.

Payment monthly: $150 (non-negotiable)

Requirements:

  • Recent graduate of Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or related field.
  • 1–2 years of marketing experience (internship or full-time).
  • Skills in Social Media Marketing and Social Media Optimization (SMO).
  • Excellent communication and writing skills.
  • Experience in developing content strategies.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Passion for African music and culture is a strong plus.

SCOPE OF SERVICES

The Service Provider agrees to perform the following services:

  • Manage the Company’s social media platforms (including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, and any others as directed).
  • Create, schedule, and post engaging content aligned with the Company’s marketing strategies.
  • Monitor and respond to comments, messages, and inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Analyze social media metrics and provide regular reports on performance.
  • Collaborate with the Company’s team to plan and execute social media campaigns and strategies aimed at increasing user engagement, subscriptions, and brand visibility.
  • Assist in the creation of marketing materials as needed.
  • Write and publish game-changing articles and blog posts that reflect the Company’s brand, industry trends, and marketing objectives.
  • Follow up on content creation by the graphics team, ensuring that articles and blogs are visually aligned with the Company’s standards and goals.
  • Prepare detailed reports on the performance and success of blogs, including metrics on user engagement, readership trends, and the impact of blog content on overall marketing effort
