ABOUT THIS ROLE

Lake Cement Ltd. is seeking a Safety Officer at its Plant.

Candidates must have 3 years and above field experience in Cement, Construction or Oil & Gas.

KEY SKILLS AND EXPERTISE

• Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Sciences.
• Experience: 3 years and above in:
  • Cement
  • Construction
  • Oil & Gas
• Certification: Health and Safety qualification recognised by NOSHC.
• Legislation: Knowledge and application of:
  • OSHA policies and regulations
  • NEMC policies and regulations
  • Fire policies and regulations
• Risk Assessment: Experience in:
  • Risk assessments
  • Accident investigation
  • Reporting
• Communication: Excellent reporting and communication skills.
• Computer Skills: Competent in standard computer applications.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Liaise with:
  • NEMC
  • OSHA
  • Fire authorities
    on legal compliance.
• Implement and drive approved HSE plans and policies at the Plant.
• Conduct:
  • HSE inductions
  • Refresher trainings
  • Fire drills
• Perform daily inspections and HSE audits with corrective measures.
• Lead:
  • Emergency preparedness
  • Response planning
  • Plant hygiene
• Coordinate:
  • Pollution control
  • Waste management
  • Recycling
• Carry out environmental impact assessments.
• Conduct staff HSE training.
