JOB PURPOSE

The successful candidate will repair company vehicles, trailers, implements, farm machinery and mobile irrigation pumps to agreed set standards by using hand tools, manuals and other workshop equipment.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Carries out repairs to company vehicles/farm machinery, trailers, implements, etc. according to repair specifications.
• Conducting preventive maintenance/alternate service to company vehicles/farm machinery, trailer, implement, etc. according to manufacturer’s specifications.
• Carries out vehicle test and report any fault/findings to LDV & TRUCK Maintenance Foreman.
• Co-operate with management to enable them to perform their duties under the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
• Perform all tasks with “awareness” towards the prevention of any forms of pollution to the surrounding and environment.
• Ensures that all operations are carried out as per the ISO 9001: 2000 Quality Management System at Kilombero Sugar to achieve the quality standards.
• Maintains a clean working environment with proper housekeeping.

MUST HAVE SKILLS

• Skills on pneumatics, hydraulics, auto-mechanics will be an added advantage.
• Capable of working as both a Mechanical Technician and an Auto Electrician, with strong troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance skills.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Trade Test Grade II or Level II in Auto Electric.
• Form Four Secondary Certificate.
• 1-2 years’ experience as an Auto Electrician in related environment.
• Valid driving license.
