Our client.

Our client, one of the leading logistics company globally seeks to recruit a well experienced Service point advisor for their Tanzania office. We are looking for a passionate, dedicated and reliable courier to join their team. As a Courier, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional service and building lasting relationships with our clients.  

THE JOB

As a Courier, you will be responsible for sorting, delivering and picking up shipments for a specific courier route, in the most efficient and cost-productive manner, whilst providing a professional inter-face and image to customers and the general public.

MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES.

Process

  • Ensure tight deadlines picks up, handles and delivers time sensitive documents and packages in a safe and punctual manner considering traffic patterns, alternative routes, traffic regulations, and driving conditions in order to meet customer and our client’s time requirements.
  • Manage the cash transactions during the delivery or collection of shipments and the maintenance of allocated vehicle.
  • Assist with the implementation of best office practises, including being on time and represent yourself in a smart and start manner.
  • Carry out pre-start check on the motorbike/vehicles and report any abnormalities.
  • Attend to assigned by management all other duties from time to time.

 

  • Responsible for work processes that affect the success of own role and contribute to the overall performance of the department.

 

 

Stakeholder Internal

  • Work under general supervision with regular review and guidance from a supervisor.
  • Refer complex and unusual problems to supervisor.
  • Comply with all company policies and procedures, including those in relation to health, safety, environment and community.

Customer Internal and External

  •  Follows up on all customer enquiries.
  • Informs Supervisors and Team Leaders on all service-related issues.
  • Provides quality feedback to customer service on service incidents when need arises.
  • Generate and provide good sales lead to sales team.

Project Management

  • On an ongoing basis, seek out and implement opportunities for continuous improvement within the operation domain.

QUALIFICATIONS

The job holder should have the following qualifications.

  1. Advanced Certificate of Secondary School ( Form Six)
  2. VETA Training Certificate is an added advantage
  3. 1-3 years of experience in area of responsibility.
  4. Intermediate service, production, or support role having greater responsibility to perform all (or most) of the standard work within the function.
  5. Demonstrates basic knowledge of a technical or specialty area.
  6. Readily learns and applies new information/concepts in area of practice.

 

THE RIGHT PERSON FOR THE JOB

The ideal candidate should possess the following skills and competencies.

Knowledge and Skills

  • A valid Tanzanian driver’s license
  • Good communication skills, both oral and written in English and Swahili
