Irrigation Foreman (Electrical) at Kilombero Sugar Company Limited

Kilombero Sugar Company Limited (KSCL), the largest producer of sugar in the country operating  cohesively with Illovo Distillers Tanzania Limited (IDTL) and a member of Illovo Sugar Africa Limited  (Africa’s largest sugar producer). Job Purpose 

The Irrigation Foreman Electrical is responsible for Optimizing agricultural performance by ensuring  continuous power supply to the fields through planned and responsive maintenance of Agricultural  electrical equipment, ensuring electrical equipment reliability to minimize downtime, developing and  managing operational and capital budgets within budget to achieve cost synergies. 

Specific Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Plan and implement preventive maintenance on all Agricultural electrical equipment in line with  Illovo equipment maintenance standards (iAMP). 
• Monitor standards for setting, operating and maintaining equipment and ensure instructions are  adhered to. 
• Implement immediate fault finding and repairs. 
• Oversee power management from the Factory transformer to the fields. 
• Carry out electrical installations in accordance with Group standards. 
• Keep abreast of technological advancements to improve power supply. 
• Continuously engage with the (Factory) Electrical Engineer for engineering guidance • Ensure that all overhead powerlines, transformers and pump stations etc. on the estate are well  maintained. 
• Monitor and manage team and individual performance daily against minimum standards and  targets.  
• Ensure continuous improvement by implementing functional best practices and conducting  physical inspections to identify improvements in infrastructure 

Minimum Requirements: 

• BSc in Electrical Engineering or Equivalent from recognized institution  
• 3-5 years’ experience in electrical maintenance environment 
• A strong electrical infrastructure maintenance background and an availability to work  methodically and systematically in an agricultural environment 

Terms of Service: The successful candidate will be engaged on a permanent contract.
