Procurement Officer at Alfred H Knight

Alfred H Knight has an exciting opportunity for Procurement Officer to join our team in Tanzania. In this role, you will be responsible for the management of the day to day procurement related services at all sites within Tanzania and the Africa region to ensure that an efficient and high-quality service is provided in order to meet the reporting deadlines and priorities agreed with AHK Head Office.

To be successful at Alfred H Knight you will need to display the following:

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND WORK EXPERIENCE

Required Competencies

• Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Managing uncertainty: Handles pressure and ambiguity well, exercises good judgment and handles challenges in a mature manner. Flexibility and pragmatism and the ability to deal with ambiguity
• Good Knowledge of general business software and aptitude to learn new applications; proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• Quality: ‘Right first time’ approach, completes work to a high standard, continually looking for improvements and strong problem-solving skills
• Ability to assist in the selection of appropriate suppliers and contractors, to promote good procurement practice with a due regard to sustainability, ethical purchasing standards and costing.
• High level of attention to detail
• Good time keeping, energetic and honest.

Required Work Experience

• At least 3 years working experience in a procurement role.

Required Qualifications

• Degree in purchasing and supply or related course.
• Must be a fully licenced member of the relevant Purchasing and Supply professional body in Tanzania.
• Any additional procurement related certification will be an added advantage.
