Duties and Responsibilities
Planning Functions
- Assist in managing and monitoring the implementation of the Corporate Strategic Plan and other strategic plans of the University.
- Participate in the evaluation of the Corporate Strategic Plan.
- Develop and review annual rolling strategic plans.
- Prepare mid-term and annual reports of the Corporate Strategic Plan.
- Coordinate the preparation of the University Annual Report.
- Develop methodologies for data collection on various aspects of University operational programmes.
- Collect and systematically compile data on University activities.
- Evaluate operational costs of University programmes using standard indicators.
- Make projections based on processed data on staff and student population of the University.
- Supervise the preparation of the budget of the Directorate of Planning and Investment.
- Ensure activities of the Directorate are carried out as per annual work plan.
- Perform any other related duties as assigned by the Director or competent University Authority.
Investment Functions
- Participate in developing and reviewing investment strategies.
- Prepare investment plans and project documents.
- Follow up on implementation of approved investments.
- Monitor performance of investments and prepare progress reports.
- Assess risks associated with University investments.
- Conduct research on investment opportunities.
- Perform any other related duties assigned by the Director or competent authority.
Resource Mobilization Functions
- Monitor implementation of the Resource Mobilization Strategy.
- Prepare proposals for mobilizing funds and resources.
- Plan and establish income-generating activities/projects.
- Follow up on approved income-generating activities and prepare progress reports.
- Identify funding opportunities and avenues.
- Develop and maintain donor or partner profiles.
- Train and sensitize staff on resource mobilization.
- Participate in stakeholder meetings, discussions, and outreach for resource mobilization.
- Perform any other related duties assigned by the Director or competent authority.
Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Planning, Project Planning and Management, Finance and Investment, Development Planning, Monitoring and Evaluation, Educational Planning, or equivalent qualifications from a recognized university.
Experience
- At least twelve (12) years of relevant working experience in a senior position in planning and investment within a recognized institution or university.
