Job Description
We are looking for a dynamic HORECA Sales Supervisor to lead and grow our presence in the Hotels, Restaurants, and Catering sector. This role is central to expanding RedGold’s footprint in the foodservice industry through strategic sales execution, relationship management, and team leadership. The ideal candidate will develop and manage key client relationships, optimize sales performance, and ensure strong market coverage while driving product visibility and revenue growth. Purpose of the Role: The HORECA Supervisor is responsible for driving sales and business
growth within the Hotels, Restaurants, and Catering (HORECA) sector. This
role involves developing and managing relationships with key hospitality
clients, ensuring product availability, executing sales and marketing
strategies, and expanding RedGold’s footprint in the foodservice industry.
Responsibilities
1. Sales & Business Development Related
- Develop and execute sales strategies to drive revenue growth in the
HORECA sector.
- Identify and establish relationships with key decision-makers in hotels,
restaurants, catering businesses, and institutional clients.
- Ensure strong market coverage and actively seek out new sales
opportunities.
- Achieve sales targets and profitability goals for the assigned territory.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and promotional agreements with clients.
- Develop and submit a monthly list of tasks and goals, ensuring all
sales objectives align with business strategy.
- Visit retailers and supermarkets and cordinate merchendisers to
ensure product visibility and display.
2. Customer Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong, long-term partnerships with HORECA
clients.
- Provide product knowledge and recommendations to enhance
client satisfaction.
- Address customer queries, concerns, and complaints in a timely
and effective manner.
- Monitor customer needs and market trends to offer tailored
solutions.
3. Sales Target Monitoring & Performance Optimization
- Set and monitor daily, weekly, monthly, and annual sales targets
for the HORECA team.
- Track team performance and provide coaching, motivation, and
strategic guidance to improve sales efficiency.
- Identify slow-moving SKUs and develop targeted sales strategies to
increase their uptake.
- Work closely with marketing and supply chain teams to push the
entire product range, ensuring balanced sales across all categories.
- Work with the Head of Sales department to identify focus products
and ensure effective promotion and execution of strategies to
increase sales.
- Analyze sales reports and market data to adjust strategies as
needed.
4. Market Intelligence & Competitive Analysis
- Conduct market research to identify growth opportunities within the
HORECA segment.
- Track competitor activities, pricing, and promotional strategies to
adjust sales tactics accordingly.
- Provide regular reports and insights to management on market trends
and sales performance.
- Stay updated with industry trends, customer complaints, and new
emerging sales avenues or technologies.
- Track and personally visit all key customers on a monthly basis to
ensure customer satisfaction, timely deliveries and effective service.
5. Sales Team Leadership & Performance Management
- Build, train, and motivate a high-performing sales and
merchendising team.
- Define KPI’s, KRA’s, and performance metrics for the sales team
and conduct periodic reviews.
- Take corrective action against underperforming team members
and develop improvement plans.
- Manage credit recovery processes in coordination with Accounts
Department and take corrective actions where necessary to ensure
recovery of bad debts.
6. Operational Excellence
- Coordinate with the supply chain and logistics teams to ensure
timely order fulfilment.
- Ensure proper execution of trade marketing initiatives and product
visibility in client locations.
- Monitor stock levels and sales performance to optimize inventory
management.
- Monitor all in-store promotion and trade festival activations to
ensure company objectives and goals are being met.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or a
related field.
- Additional certification in Sales & Marketing or Hospitality
Management is a plus.
- 3+ years of experience in sales, account management, or business
development in the FMCG, food, or hospitality industry.
- Strong network and experience working with HORECA clients (hotels,
restaurants, caterers).
Generic Skills:
- Strong sales and negotiation skills with the ability to close deals.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to manage client relationships.
- Market knowledge and business acumen in the food and beverage industry.
- Analytical mindset to track performance and suggest improvements.
- Self-driven, proactive, and results-oriented with the ability to work independently.
Additional Requirements:
- Willingness to travel within assigned regions.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, CRM tools, and sales tracking software.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends if required.
- Good command of written and oral English and Kiswahili.
