Job Description

SALES HEAD -METALS DIVISION & INSTITUTIONAL BUSINESS

The Sales Head will be responsible for planning, directing, and overseeing the sales operations across Tanzania. Role involves developing sales strategies, managing the sales team, ensuring the achievement of sales targets, and growing market share across all product categories and regions of Metals -Wire Products( Nails, Chain link fencing, Expanded metals, Razor wire, Barbed Wire, Wire mesh, BRC etc.);Roofing Sheets & HRC Steel Tubes- Wholesale/Retails/Institutional Business.

Experience: 8 to 10 years of progressive experience in sales and marketing leadership across the East African industrial and manufacturing sectors with a strong strategic mindset and a proven track record in driving revenue growth and market expansion. Extensive expertise in developing and executing sales strategies, building and leading high-performing teams, and managing complex distribution networks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Achieve Sales Targets - Meet and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales quotas, contributing directly to the company’s growth and profitability.
  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve company goals across all product lines and regions.
  • Lead, mentor, and supervise the national sales team, ensuring optimal performance, productivity, and market coverage.
  • For Institutional Business- Identify and pursue new business opportunities with dealers, institutions, contractors, NGOs, and government bodies.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, channel partners, and distributors.
  • Be actively involved in public sector procurement - identify tenders, manage submissions, ensure compliance with PPRA/e-procurement systems, and follow up to maximize government business opportunities.
  • Continuously monitor and analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to fine-tune sales strategies.
  • Coordinate with production, logistics, and marketing departments to align supply and demand, manage pricing strategies, and support product promotions.
  • Train, support, and monitor branch sales teams to ensure brand positioning and market growth.
  • Ensure extensive coverage of both urban and rural markets by effective territory mapping and market development.
  • Drive collections in coordination with accounts and ensure credit discipline and timely customer payments.
  • Maintain updated CRM records, prepare accurate sales reports, and provide regular performance updates to management.
  • Represent the company in industry forums, exhibitions, trade shows, and stakeholder meetings.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, ethical standards, and all regulatory requirements.
