Security Coordinator in Tanzania

Role overview

ACK3 is looking for a skilled Security Coordinator to manage security operations in Tanzania. This role will be responsible for the safety and security of our projects, providing on-the-ground oversight in an environment that requires proactive risk management. The Security Coordinator will work closely with local teams and our central office to ensure the highest standards of security are consistently maintained.

Main Responsibilities

• Manage physical security: Coordinate security logistics for teams, ensuring safe transit and secure operations within Tanzania.
• Supervise local security staff: Lead and manage local security personnel, including armed escorts and drivers, to maintain a secure working environment.
• Risk assessments: Conduct in-depth initial and ongoing risk assessments to anticipate and address potential security threats in project areas.
• Implement protocols: Apply security protocols, adapting them to local conditions and adjusting visibility as needed based on risk analysis.
• Coordinate with PMO: Liaise with the ACK3 Project Management Office (PMO) to ensure activities align with security standards and key performance indicators (KPIs). ACK3’s 24/7 Security Operations Center (SOC) in Europe provides additional support.
• Field Intelligence Gathering (HuMInt): Gather and assess real-time intelligence from the field to adjust security strategies proactively.
• Detailed reporting: Prepare reports on security activities, incidents, and measures, maintaining regular communication with the ACK3 management team.

Requirements

• Experience in physical security and team management in high- or moderate-risk regions, ideally in East Africa.
• Security certifications: Formal training in security and protection (international certifications preferred).
• Strong risk analysis skills: Proven experience in conducting risk assessments and implementing protocols.
• Proficiency in Field Intelligence (HuMInt): Skilled in gathering and using human intelligence to inform security decisions.
• Strong communication skills: Fluent in English, with an ability to navigate diverse cultural contexts effectively.
• Flexibility and adaptability: Ability to travel as required and adjust to changing operational needs.
