Job Description
Six Rivers Africa is looking for an IT Manager to lead, manage, and oversee the organization’s information technology systems, infrastructure, and digital strategy. This role ensures the efficient, secure, and effective operation of IT services, enabling seamless operations and supporting organizational growth
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the organization’s IT strategy to support overall organisation’s objectives.
- Oversee IT operations, ensuring systems, infrastructure, and applications run efficiently and securely.
- Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend their adoption to drive operational excellence.
- Collaborate with senior management to define IT goals, budgets, and performance metrics.
- Oversee the design, development, and maintenance of IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and hardware.
- Ensure system availability, performance, and scalability to support business operations.
- Manage software development and implementation, ensuring effective integration with existing systems.
- Develop and enforce IT security policies to protect against cybersecurity threats and data breaches.
- Conduct regular security audits, vulnerability assessments, and risk analysis. Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and industry standards.
- Plan, coordinate, and manage IT projects, ensuring on-time and within-budget delivery.
- Oversee system upgrades, migrations, and the implementation of new technologies.
- Manage vendor relationships and negotiate contracts for software, hardware, and IT services.
- Oversee IT support services to ensure timely resolution of technical issues for employees and end-users.
- Maintain a robust helpdesk function, tracking and resolving support tickets efficiently.
- Establish service-level agreements (SLAs) and monitor support performance metrics.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., ITIL, PMP, CompTIA, Cisco, Microsoft) is preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT management, network administration, or related roles.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in IT infrastructure management, cybersecurity, systems administration, cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure), and enterprise software (ERP, CRM).
- Leadership Skills: Strong leadership, team management, and conflict resolution skills.
- Project Management: Experience in planning and executing large-scale IT projects, migrations, and technology upgrades.
- Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills to resolve technical issues promptly.
