Wireless Network Optimization Engineer at ZTE Tanzania

Job Description

1. Monitor, analyze, and optimize LTE network KPIs on a daily/weekly basis.

2. Perform drive test data analysis and post‑processing using industry‑standard tools to identify coverage, interference, and quality problems.

3. Propose and implement parameter tuning, feature activation, and neighbor optimization strategies to improve network performance.

4. Handle subscriber complaints related to poor voice and data services, perform root‑cause analysis, and provide rapid solutions.

5. Support site rollout and new feature trials by conducting pre and post optimization audits.

6. Generate regular performance reports and propose improvement action plans for management and customer presentations.

7. Collaborate with teams to ensure network performance meets contractual SLAs and regulatory requirements.

Main Requirements

1. Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.

2. 2–5 years of hands‑on experience in 3G/4G/5G network optimization, with a proven track record of KPI improvement.

3. Good working knowledge of LTE air interface protocols and key signalling procedures. Ability to analyze related counters, traces, and log files for troubleshooting is required.

4. Proficiency in drive test data analysis and map‑based troubleshooting (MapInfo, Google Earth, QGIS).

5. Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to work under pressure.

6. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, Fluent in English (written and spoken).
