Responsibilities
Reporting
- Organize regulatory information, track and control submission of regulatory reports
- Control and ensure pre- validation and timely payment of all regulatory fees
- Day to day monitoring and reporting of compliance risks
- Review compliance policies and procedures on regular basis to ensure they comply with statutory and regulatory requirements
Governance
- Collect and coordinate information and prepare regulatory documentation for submission to regulatory agencies
- Timely compile materials for license renewals, updates and registrations
- Review labeling and labels for compliance with regulatory requirements
- Review new products and define the requirements for regulatory submissions and notification
- Provide the regulatory reviews of customer complaints and define the regulatory requirements
- Review Audit artefacts and learnings for audit readiness
- Review advertising and marketing material for appropriateness and compliance to regulatory requirements and laws
Environmental Management
- Ensure certification of all towers and continuous monitoring in line with environmental laws
- Ensure, at minimum, legal compliance and reduce risk of non-compliance
- Promote and coordinate the integration of environmental management and sustainability issues ESG ‘s into policies, rules, products, services and operations
- Assist the institution to perform more efficiently and therefore more competitively, which in turn promotes environmental and social improvements
Airtel Tanzania employees’ compliance to SHE policies and guidelines
- Prepare SHE guidelines drawn from Airtel Africa SHE policies and global recommendations
- Ensure continuous training of SHE Champions across Zones/Regions in Airtel Tanzania and cascade of information to entire Airtel Tanzania employees
- Carry out periodic SHE drills to all staff across locations to heighten personal and corporate safety awareness
Availability of accident protective devices in all Airtel Tanzania office locations
- Ensure regular supply, supervision and maintenance of fire extinguishers, alarms, detection and suppressions systems
- Ensure reliability of maintenance contractor
- Ensure availability regulatory body certification for compliance as required by HS laws and regulations
Effectively facilitate incident/accident investigations involving Airtel Tanzania staff/facilities
- Carry out incidents report investigation to determine direct and root causes and proffer recommendations to prevent such future occurrence
- Facilitate SHE performance data collation and Ensure Opco and Group reports are prepared and submitted timely as per group reporting guideline/timeframe
- To ensure that Monthly and Quarterly reports are submitted to management and significant events are brought to management attention immediately
Facilitate effective Safety Health and Environment (SHE) risk and quality assessment/management process
- Carry out inspection/audit on the company facilities to ensure that facilities meet and surpass minimum requirements of Government Fire Service Dept with respect to fire and evacuation safety
- Provide high level SHE advice on the design, installations and commissioning of new projects to ensure that safety requirements are observed in line with SHE Standards
Provide quality SHE advise and consultations to management and staff
- Develop and deploy processes to ensure effective education and training to nominated staff and security operatives companywide to ensure that they gain necessary knowledge in fire safety and occupational safety & health
- Provide quality advice to management on Safety and health issues/concerns including regulatory compliance
Develop and maintain Relationship with stakeholders
- To develop and maintain strategies and tactics to build and maintain close relationships with the Government, regulators, policy makers and international organizations
- Provide environmental expert advice and useful input to government authorities on the environmental and compliance related queries raised
- Preparation of group relationship report, business strategic plan and timely submission to management and group
Qualifications
Educational Qualifications & Functional/Technical Skills
- First degree in Engineering or any other related discipline plus relevant professional qualification.

- Risk Assessment/Management
Relevant Experience
- 3 years relevant work experience with a minimum of 1 year core SHE experience
- A working knowledge of safety management systems is required
- Experience in work hazards and emergency management
