About me
I am an experienced and field-ready ICT, Fiber Optic, and Security Systems Technician based in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Certified in computer networking, CCTV installation, and ICT by the Abaad Institute of Technical Training, i have combined formal technical credentials with extensive hands-on experience in telecom and low-voltage security infrastructure.
My core technical profile centers on outside plant (OSP) and Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) cable deployment. Specialized in precision fiber optic operations—including loose-tube and tight-buffer cable preparation, cleaving, single-mode and multi-mode core-alignment fusion splicing, splice tray management, and Optical Distribution Frame (ODF) pigtail terminations. Complementing my splicing capabilities, I possess practical expertise in diagnostic link testing using Optical Power Meters (OPM), Visual Fault Locators (VFL), and OTDR equipment for fault localization and optical signal loss troubleshooting.
In addition to fiber infrastructure, i manage end-to-end IP networking and electronic security projects. My field background includes structured LAN cabling (Cat5e/Cat6), router and switch configuration, Wi-Fi access point deployment, and complete CCTV surveillance setup—spanning camera mounting, NVR/DVR installation, and remote viewing configuration.
Through roles as a Field Technician and ICT Assistant at organizations like Pwani Data Fibre, i have built a track record in aerial and underground cable runs, preventive hardware maintenance, site route assessments, and adherence to field health and safety standards across commercial and residential environments.
