Job Description
The Head of Finance will report to the National Coordinator and will lead and develop an
internal team to support the following areas: finance, budgeting, administration, and
grants. He/she will play a critical role in collaborating with the coalition leadership team
in strategic decision-making and operations as TEN/MET continues to enhance its quality
programming and capacity building.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Analyze and present financial reports accurately and in a timely manner. Clearly
communicate monthly and annual financial statements, collate financial reporting
materials for all donor segments, and oversee all financial, project/program, and
grants accounting.
2. Coordinate and lead the annual audit process.
3. Update and implement all necessary business policies and accounting practices.
4. Provide oversight and technical assistance in the proper management of grants,
subcontracts, and sub-agreements throughout the Coalition.
5. Take the lead position in the negotiation of terms and revisions of agreements with
donors.
6. Oversee all aspects of financial management, including financial systems
implementation, budgeting, expenditure tracking, financial reporting, and
accounting for the coalition.
7. Develop effective financial strategies, guide fiscal decision-making, and ensure the
financial sustainability of the organization.
8. Monitor financial performance by measuring and analysing results, initiating
corrective actions and minimizing the impact of variances.
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, or a related field; a Master's
degree or CPA (T)/ACCA/CIMA is highly desirable.
2. Minimum of 10 years of professional experience in a senior financial decision
making role, with a record of accomplishment in successful financial management.
3. Proven experience in a non-profit or non-governmental organization is highly
desirable.
4. Excellent leadership and negotiation skills, with a solid understanding of financial
analysis and performance metrics.
5. Strong knowledge of reporting standards such as IPSAS and regulatory standards
(GAAP).
