Overview
The Karimjee Group is a historic, family-owned enterprise operating in East Africa with deep roots in Tanzania stretching back to 1825. Headquartered on Sokoine Drive in Dar es Salaam, the multi-generational business has evolved over two centuries from early trading ventures in Zanzibar into a major corporate group managing operations across sectors including mobility, financial services, energy, real estate, hospitality, and logistics.
The company is widely recognized for long-standing partnerships with global brands, such as serving as an exclusive distributor for Toyota in Tanzania for more than sixty years alongside handling Yamaha products and power generation equipment. Beyond commercial trade, the group is active in social development through the Karimjee Foundation, which provides educational scholarships and community support throughout the country.
