Job Description

We’re looking for a dynamic person, passionate about customer engagement and providing a world class experience to join our growing team in Mwanza Tanzania as an Accountant. The person will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with relevant financial regulations and company policies.

The role will report to the Senior Financial Accountant and will be based in Mwanza, Tanzania.

Purpose of the role:

Responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with relevant financial regulations and company policies. This role supports the organization’s financial health by managing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling accounts, assisting with budgeting processes, and providing timely financial insights to aid decision-making.

The job responsibilities:

  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, ledgers, and reports.
  • Process accounts payable and receivable transactions in a timely manner.
  • Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax laws, and internal controls.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
  • Prepare and file statutory returns (e.g., VAT, PAYE, income tax).
  • Monitor and report on financial performance and variances.
  • Participate and assist in all internal & external audits.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure accurate cost allocation and financial reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company procedures.

Qualifications & Experience Requirements

  • Degree in Accountancy or related qualifications from recognized institution.
  • 1-2 Years experience in finance or accounting practices.
  • Previous experience and exposure in mining industry and related industries in a finance & accounting role (added advantage).

Other Requirements & Competencies

  • Good command of the English Language.
  • Demonstrate ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Attention to detail and conscientious.
  • Advanced communication skills.
  • Must be flexible and self-reliant, self-starter.
