Head of Finance Accountant at Signature Consulting Group (SCG)

Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced and highly capable Head of Finance / Head of Accounts to join our car showroom and Group business in Tanzania. The successful candidate will lead the finance and accounts function, ensure full compliance with Tanzanian tax and statutory requirements, and provide strong financial control, reporting, and operational support to management.

Key responsibilities include:

Overseeing the full finance and accounts operations of the company
Managing day-to-day accounting, bookkeeping, and financial controls
Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
Monitoring cash flow, expenses, budgets, and financial performance
Ensuring accurate reconciliation of bank accounts, suppliers, customers, and general ledger balances
Managing all statutory filings and compliance requirements in Tanzania
Handling tax matters including VAT, PAYE, corporate tax, withholding tax, and other relevant filings
Liaising with TRA, auditors, banks, and other regulatory or external stakeholders
Supervising accounts staff and ensuring proper internal controls and reporting processes
Supporting management with financial planning, analysis, and decision-making
Ensuring proper documentation, record keeping, and compliance with company policies
Supporting the business in maintaining strong financial discipline across showroom operations

Required Profile Description:

Proven experience in a senior finance, accounts, or accounting management role
Strong knowledge of accounting, financial reporting, and internal controls
Excellent knowledge of Tanzanian tax laws, statutory compliance, and all required filings
Hands-on experience handling TRA-related matters and regulatory reporting
Strong analytical, organizational, and leadership skills
High level of accuracy, integrity, and attention to detail
Ability to work independently and manage a finance function effectively
Good communication and reporting skills
Experience in the automotive, trading, retail, or showroom sector is an added advantage

Fluency in Swahili is preferred
Ability to speak Gujarati is preferred
Tanzanian national preferred
