Mission

As the Financial and Administrative Controller, you will serve as a strategic and operational pillar for our hotel unit in Zanzibar. Your primary mission is to lead the comprehensive administrative management of the hotel, ensuring financial health through rigorous control of daily operations and compliance with local tax regulations.

What will your day-to-day work be like?

  • Accounting Management: Supervise and maintain the end-to-end general accounting for the hotel unit.
  • Cash Control: Perform and reconcile daily cash counts and audits, ensuring the integrity of all revenue.
  • Accounts Payable & Receivable: Manage the posting and processing of invoices for both vendors and customers.
  • Inventory Oversight: Coordinate and control physical inventory counts and stock records to prevent shrinkage/losses.
  • Internal Control: Implement internal control procedures to ensure regulatory compliance and conduct basic audits.
  • Treasury & Liquidity: Manage outstanding debt, process collections and payments, monitor liquidity and oversee local banking relationships.
  • Monthly Closings: Prepare monthly financial closings, analyzing variances and identifying the root causes of budget deviations.
  • Data Management: Manage the files and data sets required to produce accurate performance reports.
  • Reporting: Prepare reports and statements as requested by senior management.
  • Tax Compliance: Handle local financial and tax reporting (supported by local tax advisors).

Who is the ideal person for this job?

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
  • Experience: At least 1–2 years in a similar position or as an Auditor.
  • Languages: Fluent English (C1 level).
  • Technical Skills: Solid knowledge of accounting principles.
  • Software: Proficiency in SAP. Experience using Prestige is highly valued.
  • Soft Skills: Strong communication skills, lead-by-example attitude, business orientation, and a focus on efficiency.
  • Competencies: Excellent teamwork, problem-solving skills, and analytical thinking.
