Job Description

MUTABI GROUP is seeking a qualified and experienced Monitoring and Evaluation Officer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the effective implementation and assessment of our programs and projects. The Monitoring and Evaluation Officer will be responsible for developing and implementing robust monitoring and evaluation systems, collecting and analyzing data, and producing comprehensive reports to inform decision-making and enhance the impact of our initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design and Implement Monitoring and Evaluation Systems:

    • Develop and implement monitoring and evaluation frameworks, tools, and systems aligned with organizational goals and objectives.
    • Design data collection methodologies, ensuring relevance, accuracy, and efficiency.
    • Work closely with program teams to integrate monitoring and evaluation processes into project planning and implementation.
  2. Data Collection and Analysis:

    • Oversee the collection of quantitative and qualitative data through surveys, interviews, focus group discussions, and other relevant methods.
    • Analyze data to identify trends, patterns, and areas for improvement.
    • Ensure the accuracy, reliability, and completeness of collected data.
  3. Reporting:

    • Prepare and present regular and ad-hoc reports on program performance, outcomes, and impact.
    • Provide insights and recommendations based on data analysis to support evidence-based decision-making.
    • Collaborate with program managers to ensure that reports are aligned with project objectives and donor requirements.
  4. Capacity Building:

    • Provide training and technical assistance to staff and partners on monitoring and evaluation methodologies and best practices.
    • Foster a culture of learning and adaptation by promoting the use of data for continuous improvement.
  5. Quality Assurance:

    • Conduct regular evaluations of the monitoring and evaluation system to ensure its effectiveness and relevance.
    • Implement quality assurance measures to uphold data integrity and reliability.
  6. Coordination and Collaboration:

    • Work collaboratively with program teams, partners, and stakeholders to gather relevant data and ensure a coordinated approach to monitoring and evaluation.
    • Represent the organization in relevant forums, workshops, and meetings related to monitoring and evaluation.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Monitoring and Evaluation, Statistics, Social Sciences, International Development).
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing monitoring and evaluation systems for development programs.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in statistical analysis and data visualization tools.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and independently with minimal supervision.
  • Familiarity with international donor reporting requirements is an asset.
