Assistant 2 Grade Control at Geita Gold Mine Tanzania

OBJECTIVE OF THE ROLE

Execute and maintain a quality RC drilling process by recovering quality samples, recording accurate data, and minimising sample contamination and loss.

ROLE ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Perform geology work safely and in an environmentally responsible manner.
• Implement RC grade control sampling procedures and ensure accurate sample collection, bagging, labelling and alignment per standards.
• Prepare sample bags and chip trays and complete submission forms with correct sample numbers and QAQC; maintain QAQC from drill site to geology dispatch.
• Complete and submit end-of-shift grade control summaries and daily drilling reports to the supervisor.
• Provide direct support to the Supervisor – Mine Geology on drilling practice and ore dilution control.
• Identify strengths and weaknesses and recommend improvements to RC grade control and drilling procedures.

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

Education & Qualification

• Secondary education.

Experience

• Exposure to open pit mining environment is an added advantage.

Knowledge & Skills

• Basic understanding of open pit environment and sampling.
