Job Description

To support MHB's internal control framework by executing branch control, coordination, and overall quality control of operational activities both at the branch and Head Office level, ensuring adherence to bank policies, regulatory standards, and operational procedures. This role is key to identifying control weaknesses, recommending corrective actions, and promoting a compliant and risk-aware culture across the Branches & Central Operations.

SUMMARY OF THE KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review all areas as identified in the Branch & HQ Control Check List and provide an update to the Head of Operations & Service Excellence.
  • Daily review of branch general ledger accounts and report exceptions, further help the units/Branches to rectify such exceptions in the G/L.
  • Follow up to ensure all returns to the regulator and other authorities are submitted timely (those that are originating from the Operation Department)
  • Daily monitoring of Vault and ATM positions/limits
  • Branch Visits (if necessary) for physical review to ensure branches comply with internal controls and procedures in place.
  • Daily review of important branch compliance reports
  • Follow up and monitor all reconciliations under the Operations Department.
  • Interact with the Risk and Compliance department on various statutory and regulatory compliance matters that are directly related to Branch & Head Office Operations
  • Follow up closure of all Risk & Compliance, Audit issues related to Branches & Head Office Operations.
  • Review the accuracy of onboarding activities at branches to ensure compliance with the internal manual/procedures.
  • Report all onboarding exceptions and make follow-up for the closure of the identified exceptions
  • Any other duties assigned by the Line Manager/Head of Operations/Management.

KEY COMPETENCIES REQUIRED AND ACADEMIC BACKGROUND

A: Required Qualifications

  • A 1st university degree in business-related studies

B: Required Experience:

  • 5-10 years of experience in a banking operations environment (Branch & Head Office)

C: Required knowledge and skills

  • Knowledge of banking Operations (branch & centralized)
  • General Industry Knowledge
  • Risk & Compliance Culture
  • Attention to details
  • Report writing
