Job Description The Assistant Manager - Trade Finance provides specialized technical expertise in Trade Finance product sales for MSME segment clients. This role involves engaging with Relationship Managers across branches and Head Office to oversee the MSME portfolio, increase wallet share, and ensure that service level agreements (SLAs) are maintained for high-quality customer service.
Roles & Responsibilities
1. Sales & Portfolio Management
- Achieve specified sales performance targets aligned with annual objectives.
- Oversee the Trade Finance MSME portfolio for new and existing customers to increase departmental revenue.
- Analyze bank performance relative to market peers using local intelligence.
- Growth of MSME business by analyzing and selling optimal products to targeted customers.
2. Technical Expertise & Advisory
- Provide specialist advice on Trade Finance products regarding international principles such as UCP600, URDGs, ISP, and URC.
- Independently solve and recommend practical solutions for technical trade finance queries.
- Provide training on vanilla and structured trade finance products to new staff and Relationship Managers.
3. Operations & Compliance
- Manage communication regarding network, tariffs, and operational procedures within the portfolio.
- Review and update trade product service delivery manuals annually.
- Circulate information on regulatory changes from the government, Central Bank of Tanzania (BoT), and internal bank policies.
- Complete detailed call reports summarizing client discussions and opportunities.
- Report outstanding liability positions, sales volumes, and revenue at the client level.
4. Risk & Integrity
- Adhere to the bank’s risk management framework, compliance guidelines, and internal policies.
- Maintain a high level of integrity and keep company information strictly confidential.
- Attend all assigned training courses within established deadlines.
